The Picos de Europa is one of the most interesting scenerys to enjoy wildlife in Spain. The diversity of ecosistems between the north and the south side offers a great variety of fauna and flora with easy access trough paths easy walking and in a very good condition.

In one of our last walks, we used one of these easy paths near the population of Sotres, the hightst village into the Picos de Europa National Park. Our target: flowers, butterflies and some passerines.The weather was a bit cloudy and wet so it was a relaxed walk, taking our time to enjoy the landscape and to look for the flowers and butterflies. At the end, lady luck came with us and at noon the sun shined, bringing us moments of intense wildlife activity, including this fantastic Rock Thrush, that was the bird that we were especially looking for.Would you like to enjoy the wildlife in the Picos de Europa?
