Birding Picos de Europa is a birdwatching enterprise located in the Picos de Europa National Park (northern Spain) and its immediate surroundings.
From our lodge in the tiny village of Llonín (Asturias. Spain), we have easy access to the most important birdwatching hotspots, from the Cantabrian coast to Alpine areas more than 2,000 metres above sea level.
A mere 45-minute drive will take you to zones where you can spot our most prized and sought after birds such as the great raptors- the Golden Eagle, Griffon Vulture, Egyptian Vulture and Short-Toed Eagle, and also within reach of alpine birds like the Snowfinch, Wallcreeper, Alpine Accentor and many more…
Also, one can now be treated to spectacular views of probably the most impressive bird of the Iberian Peninsula, the Bearded Vulture!. This is largely due to an ongoing reintroduction project of the Bearded Vulture in the Picos de Europa National Park by The Bearded Vulture Foundation (FCQ), since 2010.
All birding activities will be guided by Javier Gil, biologist, Official Tourist Guide of The Principality of Asturias and more than 20 years’ experience.
